Yanni Ouahioune, suspected of organizing a phone scam to trap police services (“swatting”) under the pretense of a fake hostage situation at Ubisoft Montreal offices, struggled to speak out on Monday.

The frail young man of 21 with curly hair has been under psychiatric surveillance and medication for several years. “I’m good and bad at the same time,” said Yanni Ouahioune – better known in the video game world by the alias Yannox.

The judges therefore ordered a new psychiatric report to ensure that the young man was “fit to stand trial”.

The hearing was therefore adjourned to June 12, 2023. Yanni Ouahioune will then comment on the facts accused of him in the Ubisoft file, but also on the suspicion of computer attacks against the French National Center for Distance Learning and against a third civil company, the company Fuze 3 SARL, towards the end of last week. This late addition of the third file to the proceedings also justified the postponement of the hearing in June.

Until the case is dismissed, the player will be kept under judicial supervision. He is under house arrest with his mother and needs psychiatric care. “I hope you have stopped your activities on the Internet,” the judge said to him before the end of the hearing.
