The allegations are serious and the evidence seems clear: war crimes for which Russia is responsible took place in the Kiev suburb of Bucha. After the Russian army retreated, several bodies were found in the streets there, some people were apparently shot with their hands tied earlier. Others, hundreds according to Ukrainian sources, were found in mass graves in the city, which has only about 35,000 people. War crimes cannot be proven in every case – after all, there was heavy fighting in Bucha for weeks. But in some the matter is clear. But not for Russia, which disputes the facts.
