The Forum of Families of Israeli Hostages in the Gaza Strip confirmed this Friday (22) the death of one of them without his body being recovered.

According to the Forum for Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons, the deceased was 73yearold Gadi Haggai, whose wife is still among the hostages.

Haggai and his wife Judi were captured while walking through the countryside during the Hamas terrorist group's attack on Israel at Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, the forum detailed in a statement.

The woman managed to tell some friends that she had been shot and that her husband had been seriously injured the last time he had contact with them. According to this source, her husband was a musician and played in the Israeli army orchestra.

With the confirmation of his death, 128 people remain imprisoned in Gaza, of whom around 20 are estimated to have died.

The militia attack in October left more than 1,200 people dead and nearly 240 abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a weeklong ceasefire on November 24, under which the group handed over 105 hostages, including 24 foreigners, in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

Negotiations between both parties over a new ceasefire that would allow the release of hostages have stalled, with the terror group rejecting any agreement that does not provide for a permanent ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Hamas only two Offers options: “Surrender or die.” (With EFE agency)
