Family throws MC Marcinho’s ashes and throws the singer’s ashes on the beach in Cabo Frio
The family of MC Marcinho, who died on August 26th, threw the funk singer’s ashes on a beach in Cabo Frio in the lakes region of Rio this Friday (1st). The farewell took place at Praia do Forte, one of the city’s main tourist attractions.
According to the MC’s brother, Mauro Garcia, the city was chosen because Marcinho loved it the most. See video above.
“We are here in Cabo Frio, the place my brother loved the most. When he was always free, on vacation, we came with the family,” said the brother before scattering the ashes.

The tribute was published by Mauro on a social network and already has more than three thousand likes and several comments.
Among the comments was MC Koringa, who said that MC Marcinho will never be forgotten. MC Bob Rum also commented and wished the family a lot of strength.

Known as the Prince of Funk, Marcio André Nepomuceno Garcia, MC Marcinho, one of the biggest names in the history of rhythm in Brazil, died at the age of 45, suffering from heart problems. Marcinho left behind five children.
MC Marcinho is one of the creators of a very popular danceable funk style called funk melody. He is the author of great hits such as “Glamurosa”, “Rap do solitar”, “Because I love you”, “Vou catucar”, “Tudo é Festa” and “Garota Nota 100”.
Remember hits from MC Marcinho, the “Prince of Funk”
The artist comes from the generation of funk players that emerged in the 1990s, at the height of Hurricane 2000. He attended parties and auditorium programs along with DJs Marlboro, Claudinho e Buchecha, Copacabana and Latino and others. Together they brought funk across the country.
His first hit was “Lonely Rap” (“Baby, why do you treat me like this? / I just want to make you happy…”). He popularized funk with lyrics that told of the daily lives of youth in the favelas and outskirts of the greater Rio area.
“My generation, I think the lyrics were better prepared, they were more conscious lyrics and so on,” he told TV Globo.
