Carmen Dell’Orefice is a New York model, daughter of an Italian father and a Hungarian mother, known for her long career and for being the oldest model in the world to pose nude for a magazine in the United States.
The 91-year-old woman posed alongside the cover of New You magazine Beverly Johnson69, who became Vogue magazine’s first African-American model in 1974.
In this issue they both talk about their style, aging and the fashion industry. Dell’Orefice has a special connection to Vogue, having been the youngest on the cover of the famous magazine at the age of 15.

“I brought my first Vogue spread (…) to life with photographer Irving Penn. He told me to try to breathe and not move as much as possible. Just sit down,” Dell’Orefice recalls his first appearance in the magazine.
In the latest issue of the famous publication, Carmen appears covered only in a sheet and wears white panties. “We are there and there is a synergy, and then it happens,” says the model after the session with famed photographer Fadil Berisha.
“Men and women need to take care of themselves and love themselves. One of the secrets of maintaining beauty is to do what you do for a baby, to take care of it and feed it with love,” says the woman, who has never stopped except for a break at the age of 60 to work.

“That’s what we should do with ourselves: take care of ourselves, love ourselves and give ourselves that kind of energy,” added the woman, who broke with stereotypes and has become more active over the years.
