Emma and Cody have been making headlines since they went public earlier this year.
But Emma has revealed that despite the attention being paid to her personal life, she remains focused on her swimming career.
During an interview on Samantha Armytage’s “Something to Talk About” podcast in October, she said she’s learned to ignore “the outside stuff.”
“I’m quite a private person [so] I used the lessons I learned from [swimming] just being able to narrow down and put those turn signals up so things didn’t come into my circle from the outside,” she said.

The pair began dating a few months ago after Simpson, a successful singer-songwriter, gave up his music career to focus on competitive swimming.
The pair wear the same outfits as previous photos used to become Instagram Official.
“A quick date in Barcelona with my love Emma,” he captioned the pictures of the couple smiling and holding hands as they walked down the street.
Prior to their trip to Spain, Simpson and McKeon had not been spotted together since walking the red carpet at the Elvis premiere on the Gold Coast on June 4.

The couple is said to have understood each other as a training partner of weapons trainer Michael Bohl for the first time a few months ago.
Simpson is hoping to make his Paris 2024 Olympic dream a reality, while McKeon, who made history with seven medals at Tokyo 2021, is looking to back up her record-breaking performance.
The pair were in the midst of an alleged “love triangle” during the Australian Championships in Adelaide, which reportedly saw Kyle Chalmers deliberately oust Simpson from world championship eligibility in the 100m butterfly by choosing to compete in the event.
However, Chalmers, who dated McKeon for several months in 2021, later denied it and said he always planned to attend the event. Cody has previously dated a number of A-listers including Miley Cyrus and Gigi Hadid.
