The absence of Tina from Fantastic Beasts in the advertising material Dumbledore’s Secrets puzzled Wizarding World fans.
With the release of Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets fast approaching, several trailers and posters arrived. However, one character is noticed by her absence, which makes fans ask where Tina Goldstein is?
A number of fans pointed out Tina’s absence and asked Warner Bros. what happened to the American auror. As some have noted, she was the lead female role in the first two films, which made her disappearance even more confusing. Others joked that the title of the film should be changed to ask where she was.
Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets should be called Fantastic Salamanders and Where to Find Tina Goldstein.

Played by Catherine Waterston, Tina Goldstein is an auror at the United States Magic Congress and first appeared in 2016. Fantastic animals and where to find them. When Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmain) arrives in New York, Tina is soon in pursuit of the magician and his suitcase of escaped fantastic animals. Tina was then drawn into Newt’s world when one of his beasts, Obscurus, was accused of killing a senator. Tina also has a big role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, where she helps Newt in his quest to find Credence Barebone and the truth behind his identity.
There are no details about Tina’s participation in the plot of IN Dumbledore’s Secrets were revealed by Warner Bros., which only led to even more confusion among fans. However, Waterston has been confirmed to be in the film, although she is said to have suffered long-term symptoms of COVID-19 during filming, which may suggest that her role has been reduced.
Originally conceived as a trilogy, Fantastic animals the series has been expanded to include five films, all of which will be directed by David Yates and written by Harry Potter by JK Rowling. Two more films are coming up.
One thing that is confirmed IN Dumbledore’s Secrets is a tense confrontation between the titular Hogwarts professor (Jude Law) and his rival Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen). A recent trailer shows Dumbledore gathering allies and strengthening his circle as Grindelwald’s influence on the wizarding world continues to grow. The trailer also shows the couple pulling sticks against each other in a hint of the epic duel that was first teased in Harry Potter books.
Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets arrives in theaters on April 15.
