Fantasy Baseball SP Roundup – The Last Lance – Pitcher List

Welcome to the SP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article, where I rank each starting player’s performance at each Wednesday game. I apologize in advance for the jokes written in my delirium. Have questions? Ask me during my office hours on Twitch weekday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET.

Lance Lynn (CWS) @ KC (L) – 5.0 IP, 7 ER, 9 hits, 2 BBs, 4 Ks – 8 whiffs, 26% CSW, 98 pitches.

ok ok I get it. You’re done Lance Lynn and I was a fool ’cause I thought he was better: 5.0 IP, 7 ER, 9 hits, 2 BBs, 4 Ks – 8 whiffs, 26% CSW, 98 pitches. That’s 4+ ER in five of his last six games! How could you ever think otherwise? Because his fastballs were still good and he’s had rough patches in the past? Dodges threw tomatoes onto the stage. OK, I UNDERSTOOD.

It stinks. For managers around the world, it feels like the “Yes, I’m done” moment (if you haven’t already), and it’s that time of the year when we take a look at how it’s been going so far , and saying, “Well, it can.” “It won’t be that bad going forward, will it?” Well I don’t know, it would be shocking if Lynn didn’t eventually recover, but I have to down the list quite a bit. Maybe stop throwing the ball in the middle in the future? That would be cool. Sigh.

Let’s see how every other SP did on Wednesday:

Eduardo Rodriguez (DET) @ CLE (W) – 7.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 hits, 2 BBs, 8 Ks – 14 whiffs, 33% CSW, 99 pitches.

I watched this one to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, and I stand by my assessment of Eduardo – he’s essentially going through one Vargas rule. In short, Eduardo does not have outstanding skills, but he has good command of his four-seater and his cutter and is doing quite well for him, as he navigates the bats well. This phase won’t last, and while it may not end until June, there’s little chance we’ll consider Eduardo one of the top 25 SP by August 1st. Well, that’s so far away, Nick! Of course not. THAT’S MY POINT. Sell the guy high price. His stats will tell you that he deserved (for the most part) the success he achieved, but you should be wondering if this ability will last the full six months. I’d be so damn shocked if it were – nothing in this repertoire is elite in my opinion.

Kevin Gausman (TOR) @ PHI (ND) – 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 hits, 0 BBs, 9 Ks – 15 whiffs, 34% CSW, 99 pitches.

Aces become aces. Are you all worried about the speed? How about 96 mph in his four-seater today? The man is swaying his fastball with every launch and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care. The guy is goofy and makes me feel goofy and it’s high time he had a .50 whip game. HE DESERVES IT.

Dean Kremer (BAL) vs TB (W) – 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 hits, 2 BBs, 4 Ks – 11 whiffs, 26% CSW, 95 pitches.

Damn, look at you! Congratulations, Kremer, you got today’s gold star, Awarded to the pitcher with the most frightening good line. Its speed was up to 96 miles per hour, Keeping the ball up all night and pairing it with low sinkers and switches, silencing one of the majors’ best offenses. Makes you wonder if it got Kremer a spot in your rotation against the Angels, and that’s a big nooooope from me. Look, he had to sit a tad higher and have solid pitch separation to get 26% CSW with four strikeouts. I need more gold if I’m looking for the end of this rainbow.

Dylan Lee (ATL) vs BOS (ND) – 2.2 IP, 0 ER, 0 hits, 1 BBs, 3 Ks – 6 whiffs, 48% CSW, 31 pitches.

Atlanta opted to play a bullpen here rather than call Jared Shuster, so cool Get her folks.

Jalen Beeks (TB) @ BAL (ND) – 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 hits, 0 BBs, 2 Ks – 6 whiffs, 36% CSW, 28 pitches.

beeks opened, Yonny Chirinos followed for 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 hits, 4 BBs, 1 Ks And I don’t know why you keep pursuing it. Do you like dry bread or something?

Justin Verlander (NYM) @ CIN (W) – 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 hits, 2 BBs, 7 Ks – 13 whiffs, 28% CSW, 104 pitches.

Aces become aces. Fastball was recognized well, although the slider still needs a bit of work to hit it more often. It’s still great to have another stallion back.

Zack Wheeler (PHI) vs. TOR (ND) – 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 hits, 1 BBs, 7 Ks – 12 whiffs, 29% CSW, 107 pitches.

Aces become aces. The four seater hit 98.5mph on the first run and while his slider and sweeper aren’t the best, the sinker has regained the O-Swing and his four seater is fantastic. He belongs to SP #10.

Clayton Kershaw (LAD) @ MIL (W) – 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 5 hits, 0 BBs, 8 Ks – 18 whiffs, 36% CSW, 92 pitches.

There are TATIAGA Back at work. Puts a smile on my face every time.

Pablo López (MIN) vs. SD (ND) – 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 hits, 4 BBs, 8 Ks – 17 whiffs, 30% CSW, 98 pitches.

The four walks are rough, but the 95mph speed is still there, and I’m dying to give it the AGA label, but I haven’t forgotten about the two back-to-back blasts. And now he’s having a tough time because the twins have a terrible schedule ahead of them. If he continues to easily defy the matchups, he will get the label.

Brad Keller (KC) vs. CWS (W) – 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 hits, 4 BBs, 4 Ks – 11 whiffs, 27% CSW, 88 pitches.

We got a bread cellar and the ducks are happy about it. Not really – ducks are supposed to have bread. sorry to be that guy So you mean even the ducks aren’t happy? Not even the ducks. But it was a win and a 1.80 ERA! NOT ALSO THE DUCKS.

Rich Hill (PIT) vs. COL (ND) – 3.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, 2 BBs, 4 Ks – 3 whiffs, 31% CSW, 75 pitches.

Some streamed Hill and they didn’t get much for it. There are better… mountains to climb.

Josiah Gray (WSH) @ SF (W) – 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 hits, 4 BBs, 3 Ks – 7 whiffs, 24% CSW, 93 pitches.

One likes to see it, even when it comes to the WHIP problem. I was able to talk about Josiah’s success at MASN recently and he continued to avoid home runs on his four-seater for another day. That slider, curve, and cutter are doing a fair amount of work at a combined utilization of 80%, and if he keeps hitting it, things will keep working, four walks or not.

Seth Lugo (SD) @ MIN (ND) – 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 hits, 1 BBs, 5 Ks – 7 whiffs, 27% CSW, 84 pitches.

Atta boy Lugo. That’s what a solid toby does. Unfortunately, there was no win (stupid, sexy PabLó), but we should be glad that he was able to avoid this problem. Can’t say I liked what I saw with his fastball and curveball, he didn’t find the edges and got away with a lot of errors, but hey, at least he was throwing strikes.

Brayan Bello (BOS) @ ATL (W) – 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 hits, 1 BBs, 5 Ks – 18 whiffs, 30% CSW, 100 pitches.

It’s a solid start from Bello, a tremendous result as he posted a whopping 47% CSW in his four seater. That may not be the case in the future and I wasn’t overly impressed with his changeup and slider as he combined for only 47% of the hits. whoops The upcoming Mariners aren’t the strongest team out there, so it might work again (he’s gotten at least four bargains on each of his four offers, after all), although I’d like to see something more standard in the future.

Dane Dunning (TEX) @ SEA (W) – 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 hits, 1 BBs, 5 Ks – 12 whiffs, 37% CSW, 71 pitches.

hmmmmm I’ve been vocal against Dunning, and even though he only threw 71 pitches here, 37% CSW is 37% CSW. Sinker called strikes were a big part of that (41% strike rate called) and his slider + cutter delivered 8/33 whiffs, which makes me wonder if that’s a worse version of that Brady Singer? But Singer is bad now. Makes you think, doesn’t it? At least there’s more in the tank for Dunning, but I don’t like relying on this sinker to survive in the zone and I don’t particularly believe in his cutter + slider and turn. Sorry I’m still out.

Cristian Javier (HOU) @ LAA (W) – 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 3 hits, 1 BBs, 11 Ks – 24 whiffs, 40% CSW, 93 pitches.

Aces will yield an ace and a ridiculous win golden target. A touch of 17/57 on the four-seater should silence any critics on the field this year (phew), and the slider at 41% CSW (and 75% hit rate!) is a sight to behold.

Hunter Greene (CIN) vs NYM (L) – 5.1 IP, 2 ER, 6 hits, 4 BBs, 4 Ks – 11 whiffs, 22% CSW, 105 pitches.

Bleg. Greene managed 4/61 shots on fours tonight. Who are you, Noah Syndergaard?! It is becoming increasingly difficult to support Greene in his situation in Cincy and the apparent inconsistency of his command. And now it’s Coors?! POOH.

Jhony Brito (NYY) vs. OAK (ND) – 4.1 IP, 2 ER, 5 hits, 2 BBs, 3 Ks – 8 whiffs, 31% CSW, 77 pitches.

There wasn’t much to gain here, although Brito was only two outs from victory and was essentially what was dreamed of. That’s why we don’t stream it.

Justin Steele (CHC) vs. STL (W) – 6.0 IP, 3 ER, 7 hits, 3 BBs, 3 Ks – 5 whiffs, 19% CSW, 91 pitches.

Are we cool with a VPQS with three strikeouts from Steele? His slider moved 0/28 and the four seater scored a paltry 19% CSW… it really feels like it’s about to fall out from under his feet, doesn’t it? It’s not just me? Suitman whispers in my ear Houston is next?! Hold me. Suitman hisses in my ear. Okay, okay, I’m gonna hug someone else.

Luis Castillo (SEA) vs. TEX (L) – 5.0 IP, 3 ER, 8 hits, 0 BBs, 9 Ks – 17 whiffs, 35% CSW, 98 pitches.

become aces Dusty donut. A ratio of 9/0K per BB is ridiculous and will (mostly) Singled out is no way to live. He really needs to pull off that damn left-handed switch…

Antonio Senzatela (COL) @ PIT (ND) – 2.2 IP, 3 ER, 4 hits, 1 BBs, 1 Ks – 3 whiffs, 14% CSW, 51 pitches.

Senz-A left with a forearm injury and I feel disappointed for him. This was only his second start from TJS and I sincerely hope he is doing well. Nobody deserves this emotional turmoil.

Peyton Battenfield (CLE) vs. DET (L) – 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 7 hits, 0 BBs, 4 Ks – 9 whiffs, 27% CSW, 90 pitches.

Bleg. If you streamed the man you didn’t get much back as his editor only returned a 19% CSW. I see no reason to stay here.

Merrill Kelly (ARI) vs. MIA (ND) – 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 4 hits, 1 BBs, 6 Ks – 8 whiffs, 27% CSW, 97 pitches.

Ah, so the Marlins are the team to inflate your ERA. Good to know. The A’s should fix the problem. Sounding like Canadians, it shouldn’t surprise you how helpful they are.

Edward Cabrera (MIA) @ ARI (ND) – 3.1 IP, 4 ER, 2 hits, 4 BBs, 5 Ks – 8 whiffs, 37% CSW, 62 pitches.

Don’t trust a man with the 192nd best walk rate in the majors. Honestly, they’re pretty simple rules to follow. What about the 191st? Well, that’s a whole different story.

Sean Manaea (SF) vs. WSH (L) – 2.2 IP, 4 ER, 5 hits, 3 BBs, 4 Ks – 5 whiffs, 24% CSW, 74 pitches.

Fine. FINE. No more, we’re done. That three-run shot stole a piece of my heart. Manaea’s speed was also down across the board, and we’re over that. Today can be titled “The Lost Hope”. That is how it goes.

Griffin Canning (LAA) vs. HOU (L) – 3.2 IP, 5 ER, 5 hits, 1 BBs, 3 Ks – 4 whiffs, 31% CSW, 64 pitches.

Well, it’s the Astros. 47% four-seaters are not what we want either. Unfortunately, he hadn’t gotten his slider to boil.

Jordan Montgomery (STL) @ CHC (L) – 5.0 IP, 6 ER, 7 hits, 3 BBs, 3 Ks – 4 whiffs, 22% CSW, 88 pitches.

womp womp The bear was a strong arm in a sea of disasters, but unfortunately JorMont joined them in this disaster as he hit 0/15 CSW on switches and struggled to locate himself effectively. It’s just one of those days and the next thing we do against the Brewers is business as usual.

Kyle Muller (OAK) @ NYY (L) – 4.0 IP, 6 ER, 5 hits, 3 BBs, 6 Ks – 10 whiffs, 32% CSW, 87 pitches.

He really needs a safe place to try out his repertoire these days. A place to really think about. With cheese and crackers. Yes, 92.7 mph is no cheese. Ayyyyyy.

Wade Miley (MIL) vs. LAD (L) – 5.0 IP, 7 ER, 6 hits, 2 BBs, 3 Ks – 4 whiffs, 24% CSW, 94 pitches.

Miley is one toby and he faced a tough offensive. Don’t make it harder than it has to be.

game of the day

Yu Darvish vs. Bailey Ober – I hope Ober can overcome a heavy offense and that Darvish is always a pleasure to watch.

But Nick?! Where are the streaming tips? – I’ve moved them to the daily SP Matchups & Streamer Rankings article.
