FAO will support the opening of markets for Bolivian products

After a virtual meeting between Bolivian Deputy Foreign Trade Minister Benjamín Blanco, FAO officials and diplomatic representatives of the plurinational state, it was reported that the agreed work plan provides for niches for goods and their commercial marketing.

Sources from this deputy ministry reported that the agreed measures will directly benefit more than 70 communities in the Andean-Amazon state and 1,300 producers.

Potential exportable foods such as cocoa beans and their derivatives, chestnuts, almonds, ground chili, freeze-dried açaí, honey and broad beans, among others, were presented during the virtual meeting.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the prioritization of products is based on the strategic alliance between this portfolio and the FAO in the framework of trade promotion of agrobiodiversity products with brand identity and provenance.

According to the sources, the aim of the work plan is to support market opening and trade promotion.

The aim is to consolidate the direct contact between the productive economic organizations and the potential international buyer, as well as to identify potential buyers while meeting the import requirements in the identified countries.
