A 20-year-old man was arrested on Friday in connection with an accident that killed a 26-year-old woman and seriously injured another in Laval last July.

Aron Romero was arrested by Crash Investigation Squad investigators on Oct. 7 for dangerous driving, which resulted in death and injury, and driving, which resulted in death and injury.
He appeared at the Laval courthouse the same day and was released on conditions that had to be met before his return to the Quebec court on December 2.
According to police, around 10:30 p.m. on July 4, the suspect was driving a white Cadillac SUV and traveling at high speed southbound on Highway 335 when he collided with another vehicle carrying two elderly women.

“The defendant is said to have committed several traffic offenses and overtaken prohibited vehicles in the oncoming lane. This maneuver resulted in a head-on collision,” police said.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and the passenger was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
