Fatal argument: A teenager is said to have beaten and then strangled his father

A 19-year-old minor has been wanted by the police since Friday because he is said to have beaten his 44-year-old father to death during an argument in August.

On August 27, at around 3:40 a.m., police officers from the city of Roswell, New Mexico in the United States went to the Gonzalez family home where they found Mario Gonzalez seriously injured.

The latter was transported to the hospital, where he died, according to a police report.

The victim and her son, Ivan Gonzalaz, were drinking alcohol in a van outside the house when an argument broke out over “various things.”

Ivan Gonzalez became angry and allegedly hit his father, who then walked toward the residence.

Ivan Gonzalez followed his father and then strangled him, police report further details.

In the house he is said to have hit and kicked his father again.

Police said Ivan Gonzalez was not immediately charged with murder as investigators awaited full autopsy results.

On Friday, October 13, Mr. Gonzalez was charged with second-degree murder and authorities obtained a warrant for his arrest. Police continue to search for Ivan Gonzalez to formally arrest him.
