Father Tkachuk flogging the panthers

Former player Keith Tkachuk was not kind to the Florida Panthers, his son Matthew’s team, during his appearance on a radio show in Toronto.

On Monday night, he watched the Panthers lose 5-2 to the Ottawa Senators, his other son Brady’s team.

“It’s a matter of life and death for the Panthers right now,” Tkachuk said on “First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo” ahead of the Panthers’ win over the Maple Leafs tonight. I’m disappointed with what I’m seeing from the Panthers.

“It’s a team that lacks conviction and they deserve everything that’s happening to them.”

More robustness?

The Florida side visiting the Canadiens at the Bell Center tonight are lacking in hard work, according to the former St. Louis Blues forward.

“Rather than trying to get Matthews or Marner’s autographs on the ice, they should watch them more closely. It’s very disappointing. I come across as a frustrated person. But every time I see the Senators, I know they’re not the most talented team, but they’ll give it their all.

“The Panthers should take a page from their book.”
