Fernanda Montenegro and her daughter Fernanda Torres received the blessing of Pope Francis this Wednesday at the Vatican.
The two attended midnight mass on December 25 and the general audience where they met the pope. The meeting was recorded and shared on Instagram, a social network, where Fernanda Montenegro wrote “Amen” in the caption.
In the shot it is possible to see mother and daughter sitting while the Pope holds Fernanda Montenegro's hand and wishes God his blessing. The Vatican's profile on X, formerly Twitter, also shared the moment.
At 94 years old, Fernanda Montenegro remains fully active. The actress, who played Our Lady in 2000's O Auto da Compadecida, will be back in the film's sequel.
The story follows the adventures of a duo who make a living from scams. They deceive the population of a small village in the hinterland of Paraíba and are sentenced after their death before entering paradise.
Fernanda Torres adapted the book “Fim!” for Globoplay, a work she published ten years ago. The series launched on the platform in October and consists of ten episodes of around 60 minutes each.
