Fernando Colunga/YouTube video recording
BY Alejandro Feregrino-. Since his television debut as Eduardo Yañez’s double in “Dulce Desafío” in 1988, Fernando Colunga has appeared in more than 30 soap operas, films and plays, most of them as the protagonist.
That’s why he’s earned his place as one of the most important soap opera leads of the last few decades.
He was the love interest of Thalía in María la del Barrio and of Aracely Arámbula in La Usurpadora. He was romantically linked to both actresses, but little was known about these relationships. From a young age, Fernando always tried to keep his personal and professional life completely separate, a lesson he learned “the hard way”.
“I had a very good relationship, I was doing very well, but the day it became public it became a disaster,” he recalled in an interview with Mara Patricia Castañeda for her YouTube channel.
“I realized that not using anyone or letting anyone use me to perform was not the path I wanted to take,” he explained. For this reason, rumors from the press are neither clarified nor confirmed or denied. However, in the interview, he admitted that he is experiencing a great moment in his life, although the identity of the woman who makes him happy remains a mystery.
“Why do I question my relationship to see whether someone likes it or not when I enjoy it so much? I’m happy, I’m doing very well, they treat me very well! And they say up with me, who laughed, “It’s not that easy!”
Fernando doesn’t hide his relationship either. He dates his wife, travels with her and they live together. They just don’t talk about it or interact in the work environment.
“I’ve seen a lot of people arrive on the plane with my wife, really respectable journalists. They just laugh and tell me, ‘Don’t worry, I won’t say anything because I know what you’re like and…’ You don’t want to screw up your life.’ Privately, I respect that.’ Because I have maintained this consistency throughout my life,” he explained.

This consistency has allowed him to navigate the waters of fame without giving anyone explanations about his personal life, without caring what others think or what rumors they invent about him.
Although rumor has it that Colunga’s partner is Blanca Soto, whom he met while recording “Porque el amor manda” – they were even caught kissing in 2016 – both have flatly refused to even discuss the subject.
“Then you see they say, ‘It must have a secret, it’s hiding something.’ Well, I’m hiding something, but I’m not going to throw away what’s mine. Luckily, my wife understands me and supports me,” he said.
However, the actor briefly broke his silence and assured that his plans to become a father are still firm: “I’m still there. “I never refused to have a child, and if I didn’t actually have one, it was because life didn’t do it.” I wanted him to.
