“Cheap banalities” – “Enough with moralism” Mirella Serri and Giampiero Mughini are not bothered by the Ferragni case. As guests of Giuseppe Brindisi in Zona Bianca on Rete 4, the two authors argue about the most discussed Italian couple of the moment and their social and political role outside of social media. “To be honest, at the moment I don’t see two sellers of your caliber,” says Mughini, explaining his point of view on the Ferragnez case. A thought that, however, provokes an outraged reaction from colleagues. “We shouldn’t moralize here. Because we moralize so much – emphasizes Serri – they are rich, very rich.”

In context, however, Mughini becomes beside himself: “Mirella, but be good,” the journalist calls out mischievously, “don't use that word with me.” I wipe my shoes with moralism. “They were sellers of themselves, we don't care about that – answers Serri – they conveyed ideas that had or could have an impact on society and our social transformation.” But Mughini cannot remain silent: “But let's not talk nonsense,” he shouts into the camera. But Serri wants to finish her argument and, with the help of Brindisi, manages to have her say again: “They sold themselves and also had very positive ideas (those against criticism of homosexuality and so on).”

Serri, who was pushed by Brindisi to finish her speech, concludes by explaining her thoughts: “Not all of them are cultured and knowledgeable people like you,” she says, pointing a finger at Mughini. “People need to know things, and they tell them what they said.” With what intention they said it is up to them. Enough with the moralism!”
