The Oktoberfest They bring the good guys Flavors of autumn, come on truffle for the Sausagesat Meat, to discover and enjoy almost everywhere in Italy. ARRANCABIRRA, Courmayeur (Aosta) – On Saturday October 7th we will walk, run and drink good beer between the Alps around Courmayeur in a semi-serious or even downright playful race: 18 kilometers, reduced to 13 in bad weather, to be covered with masks , or with a dog on a leash (participation in the CCC category – participants with a dog) and refreshed with a good supply of beer cans. We start from the center of Courmayeur and follow a route with a respectable elevation gain of 1410 meters, with the possibility of drinking one or more cans of beer, each of which grants a reward of 10 minutes, deducted from the price of the time at the end of the competition was actually consumed. The final ranking will decide the winner. There are 4-6 drink points set up along the route where you can stock up on beer. And if you don’t drink a drop, you can secure the Hurzeler-Grivel trophy. ALBA INTERNATIONAL WHITE TRUFFLE FAIR, Alba – The event starts on Saturday October 7th and lasts until Sunday December 3rd: almost two months to see, touch, buy, taste and above all smell the goodness of the white Alba truffle, alone or in a thousand combinations with dishes of Piedmontese cuisine and wines from Langhe and Roero. Every Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., lovers of the noble tuber can visit the world market for white truffles from Alba, which takes place in the Cortile della Maddalena in Piazza Falcone. On the occasion of the fair, the city’s main monuments and meeting places offer food and wine and folklore events, including the Donkey Palio scheduled for the first Sunday of October in conjunction with the historical reenactment, the tasting workshops and wine tastings, fresh pasta workshops, sensory analyzes and more. SALAMI FESTIVAL, Cremona – Three days dedicated to the delicious Cremonese salami, from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th, with show cooking, tastings and cultural meetings. Three delicious days to get to know and appreciate a unique product, offered in different recipes and preparations that characterize both the territory and the production company. The historic center of the Lombard city brings together proposals of artisanal productions from all over Italy (and also from abroad), all of which can be discovered through show cooking, tastings and gastronomic challenges. After the mission that “Gagarin”, the first salami launched into space, and the record-breaking Maxi Panino salami have successfully completed in recent years, the delicious surprise challenge of this new edition remains to be discovered. GREAT GALÀ OF TORTÉL DÓLS, Colorno (Parma) – Two days in the company of Tortél Dóls, the traditional first course of the lower Parma region, with illustrious guests and great chefs discussing various topics related to the gastronomic tradition and the region. Dates on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October in Piazza Garibaldi in Colorno with over 100 exhibitors from the region. At a stand specially set up for the occasion, you can discover all the steps involved in making tortello, from making the dough to filling the tortelli. In order to create healthy competition, a dispute is also planned between the Rezdore, the housewives who specialize in the preparation of pasta, from the five municipalities of the production area (Mezzani, Sissa, Torrile, Trecasali and Colorno) who are fighting for the Compete to make the best sweet tortello. Finally, at the Taste Market in Piazza del Palazzo Ducale you will find honey, cheese, typical cured meats, jams, wine and much more with excellent products from local farms. FESTIVAL OF SALAMINA WITH SPOON SAUCE, Poggio Renatico (Ferrara) – Third and final weekend, scheduled from Thursday 21 to Sunday 8 October, to discover the delicacies of the local Salamina da Sugo, protagonist of excellent menus, from starters to main courses, in many tasty variations. The festival takes place in the hamlet of Madonna Boschi and offers many delicacies, including the peasant appetizer with local sausages, the raw salamina carpaccio with parmesan and balsamic vinegar cream, the packets of salamina ragù da sugo, the triptych composed of salamina raw, cooked salamina and Pies made by local pork butchers, Coppa di testa and packets of Salamina ragù da sugo as well as baked lasagna with pumpkin puree and tagliatelle from the butcher. NATIONAL FAIR OF FINE WHITE TRUFFLES OF PERGOLA, Pergola (Pesaro and Urbino) – Second of the three Sundays, October 1st, 8th and 15th, dedicated to the white pergola truffle, on the occasion of the 26th edition of the National Fair of Fine White Truffles and Typical Products. Pergola, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is located in the upper Cesano Valley in the province of Pesaro and Urbino and offers numerous events including theatrical performances, music, sports initiatives, playful moments for children and, above all, a real party flavors. The Teatro Angel Dal Foco and the Teatro dei Golosi also host debates and cooking shows that tell the story of the world of truffles. There is also the camper meeting organized by the city of Proloco, which aims to raise awareness of the city, its beauties and culinary excellence. Parking is free. VALLERANO CHESTNUT FESTIVAL, Vallerano (Viterbo) – Appointment every weekend in October from Saturday 7 to Sunday 29 October, continuing on Wednesday 1 November, in the company of the Vallerano chestnuts, the protagonists of this wonderful festival. The precious natural product, in its many variations, is the absolute protagonist, thanks to a gastronomic, tourist and cultural journey aimed at enlivening and deepening knowledge about it. The Vallerano chestnut, with its special shine, has been awarded the Protected Designation of Origin by the European Community. Not a festival, but a real party that aims to celebrate the typical product of the country in a cheerful way with attractions of different kinds. LIONESS POTATO FESTIVAL, Leonessa (Rieti) – From Friday 6th to Sunday 8th October, the 33rd edition of the Potato Festival will take place, which can be deliciously fried, with gnocchi dough or enjoyed in a thousand other ways. The Leonessa potato is the queen of the table for a whole weekend and the absolute protagonist of a wonderful celebration in the splendid setting of the Terminillo basin that surrounds the entire area. In addition to potatoes, rich in healthy substances such as vitamin C, potassium and fiber, you can discover products including sausages, cheese, spelt, honey, truffles, mushrooms and desserts at over a hundred stalls in the historic center. TRUFFLES AND CHOCOLATE, Subiaco (Rome) – Second weekend accompanied by the precious combination of truffles and chocolate: on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October, the precious local truffles, accompanied by the best chocolate, will be at the center of a festival of taste and good food. Themed menus are available, which are also aimed at children, celiac disease and lactose allergy sufferers. The festival is a great opportunity to discover Subiaco, a place full of history and art where the monasteries of San Benedetto and Santa Scolastica are located. BOAR AND CHESTNUT FESTIVAL, San Potito Ultra (Avellino) – From Friday 6th to Sunday 8th October, in San Potito Ultra, in the Avellino area, the 25th edition of a very tasty festival will take place where you can taste typical traditional local dishes based on wild boar and chestnuts, Roasts, the record wood and excellent local dishes can taste wines.
