Lithuania will play against Serbia, while Italy will look to hand Team USA their second defeat in a row. The next day, Germany faces Latvia and Canada takes on Slovenia.
An eventful day marked the end of the second round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. After the last eight games, the quarterfinal pairs were announced.
All qualified teams will have a rest day on Monday, September 4th. The playoffs begin with two games on Tuesday, September 5th and two games on Wednesday, September 6th.
Lithuania, who shocked the world with their victory over Team USA, will compete in the first game of the day. They face Serbia, who comfortably defeated Karl-Anthony Towns’ Dominican Republic.
In the second game of the day, Italy, who beat Puerto Rico, will try to hand Team USA their second straight defeat.
On Wednesday the day begins with a fight between Germany and Latvia. While Germany is one of the most dominant teams in the tournament, Latvia is pulling off surprise after surprise in its first appearance at the FIBA World Cup.
At the end of the quarterfinal phase there will be a battle between the only two All-NBA players, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Canada taking on Luka Doncic and Slovenia.

The winner of the match between Lithuania and Serbia will play in the semi-finals against the winner of the match between Canada and Slovenia, while the winner of Germany-Latvia will play against the winner of Italy-USA.
