This new 33 hectare land in Carignan has belonged to a family for more than 40 years. The Trust said it bought it at the average price of farmland in the area.

“This new acquisition makes it possible to concretely implement the mission of preserving agricultural land and supporting the creation and development of farms,” said the President of Fiducie agricole REM, Julie Bissonnette.

This new land will become part of the heritage of the Trust, which wishes to perpetuate its agricultural vocation in this suburban sector. In addition, a tender for the construction of an agricultural successor project on a part of the property will be issued in the coming months.

With a first piece of land, which was acquired last spring, Fiducie agricole REM, founded in 2017, now owns almost 50 hectares of agricultural land.

It should be remembered that its aim is to ensure that the agricultural lands in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Express Network retain their agricultural vocation.
