Universitario de Deportes ended the season by winning the national title and several of its players were honored at the awards gala organized by Liga 1. Amidst this panorama, FIFA President Gianni Infantino welcomed the Merengue team to its inauguration; However, it was noticeable that the message was similar to the one he had dedicated months ago to the women's team, which also defeated Alianza Lima in the final.
