The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced on Sunday several details on the progress of activities for the next World Cup, which will take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States in the summer of 2026.
Canada automatically qualifies as it is one of the host countries of the competition. The adventure begins in Toronto on Friday, June 12 at BMO Field before playing its final two group stage games at BC Place in Vancouver on Thursday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 24.

In addition, Toronto and Vancouver will each host five group games. One playoff game will be played in the Queen City and two in British Columbia.
The tournament, in which 48 nations compete for the most prestigious trophy in world football, begins on June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The first meeting of the 23rd edition of the World Cup on American soil will take place on June 12 in Los Angeles.
The final will take place at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. A total of 104 games will be played in this edition, 72 of which will be in the group stage.
In 2026, Canada will take part in a World Cup for the second consecutive year. As a reminder, the Unifolié was eliminated in the first round by finishing fourth in its group at the last edition in Qatar in 2022.
