Fight in secondary school: 15-year-old stabbed

A 15-year-old teenager was reportedly killed and a second was injured Monday in a brawl involving more than a dozen students at a North Carolina high school, with one of the teens reportedly pulling out a knife to defend himself.

“Both victims were transported to an area hospital. Unfortunately, one victim died from his injuries. This is a very unfortunate incident that occurred today. “An incident that is truly disturbing,” Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson said at a news conference, according to the New York Post.

The brawl reportedly broke out within the walls of Southeast Raleigh High School when a teenager attacked a 14-year-old friend, sparking a melee in the school’s gymnasium, according to images captured by a witness at the scene.

Except when nearly ten teenagers rushed to surround the 14-year-old and beat him, he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed two students, aged 15 and 16, before managing to escape amid a riot, like we’ll find out later.

“Schools should be a safe haven for our students and staff. “What happened here today is unacceptable,” said Wake County Superintendent Robert Taylor, according to American media.

The two injured were reportedly taken to a hospital, where one died, while the 14-year-old was quickly arrested and charged with murder, the NY Post continued. Her identity has not been revealed.

But Sherelle McLaughlin, the young defendant’s mother, told local television station WRAL that he was simply defending himself.

“The whole situation is terrible. I feel sorry for the other family, but I also feel sorry for my son because he was fighting for his life. It wasn’t a fair fight. “I just don’t think it should have happened like that,” she lamented.
