It may sound intimidating, but the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards are waiting for us. Please try to remain calm. We are not talking about the spirit that appears on December 24th to teach you the meaning of Christmas. No, we’re talking about an annual awards show dedicated to special films made for less than $22.5 million that don’t care about studio notes (or the ghosts of last Christmas).

At this year’s awards ceremony, there’s only one name on everyone’s mind: Zola. Torn from the timeline, Yanichi Bravo’s film received the most likes from voters, earning seven nominations including Best Film, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, and Best Director. But come on, come on, Zola has some competition, including Lost Daughter (four nominations) and the aforementioned Go Go Go (three nominations).

Can Zola avoid the Film Independent Spirit Awards and live to write history on Twitter? Find out tonight through our handy, regularly updated list.
