Finance ministers left G20 meetings because of Russia

Lindner had previously called for a clear G20 response to Russia and blamed Russia alone for the current global economic woes. There can be no return to the usual form of exchange with Russia and President Vladimir Putin until he withdraws his troops from Ukraine.

Don’t offer a stage

At the IMF conference and talks between G20 finance ministers, Russia will not have a stage to spread propaganda and lies, Lindner said.

Russia is a member of the G20 and was also invited to the meeting in Washington. Because of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, there are calls to exclude Moscow. After the ministers’ meeting, there should therefore not be a joint final declaration.
