Researchers at a US telecommunications company have created a model showing what people will look like in the year 3000 with constant use of technology. According to experts at Toll Free Forwarding, people will change radically if they continue to abuse technologies such as mobile phones, computers and televisions over the next 800 years.
The model, named Mindy, has a round back, wide neck, clawed hands and even a second pair of eyelids. Additionally, scientists believe humans can present “smartphone elbow,” a permanent 90degree angle created by positioning the arm when holding a cellphone.
“We gathered scientific research and expert opinion on the subject before collaborating with a 3D designer with the aim of creating a future human whose body has been physically transformed through constant use of smartphones, laptops and other technologies ‘ the company’s scientist explained.
In addition to the clawed hands from holding the phone for a long time and the back arched from the posture, people would also develop thickened necks and two pairs of eyelids from excessive exposure to artificial light. Scientists also believe that all of these exposure times would result in a thicker skull and smaller brain.
“If you’re constantly working on your computer or looking at your phone, your neck muscles have to contract to keep your head up,” explains Dr. K. Daniel Riew of the New YorkPresbyterian Orch Spine Hospital. in an opinion.
