This week the fans of the group Harmonia do Samba were surprised after Xanddy announced the end of the band. The singer will pursue a solo career under the name Xanddy Harmonia. Although Carla Perez’s husband has said in his official announcement that everything is fine and the team will continue together, things don’t seem to be 100%.
One of the biggest names in Harmonia do Samba history will not be part of the group change, according to website ‘BNews Enttretimento’. This is the drummer Roque Cézar, who was also the founder of the band in 1993. Reason would be the lack of agreement between Xanddy and him in group decisions, which would have even motivated the separation.
Also according to the site, the mood between the two hasn’t been the best in months. Roque Cézar has been absent from the band’s presentations, not even appearing with the group on the TV Globo show Altas Horas last month. For ‘BNews Enttretimento’, the tip confirmed that the drummer isn’t pursuing the new project, but didn’t bring any further clarification.
Alongside Roque as the founder of Harmonia do Samba, his mother Dona Graça is a cofounder and largest investor in the group. In fact, she would be the one to hold the line to keep the situation from ending up in court as she considers everyone in the group to be her son.
through the Instagram stories, Xanddy said he will fulfill all commitments from shows already signed as Harmonia do Samba, explaining that the change was an internal decision. “A joint decision, an internal decision by us, to continue now as Xanddy Harmonia. Our team is still together, Mestre Bimba is still in charge of the musical part, he is our conductor, our team is still with me, the band is still with me. We’re going on with our usual projects… It’s just a new phase where we need you even more,” the singer began.
He also said that the whole group is excited for the new phase. “Harmonia do Samba will never stop being Harmonia, I am Harmonia forever, neither are you. I’ll keep preserving and singing our story. We have a beautiful and wonderful legacy and I would never give that up. We are all looking forward to this new phase, there are many good things ahead of us. It’s alright, keep peace, see you soon,” he concluded.

Due to the wide variety of orders, some decisions were necessary that were the most difficult. We don’t want to leave any room for speculation: the decision to make this change was very well thought out, matured and made together. This is a new moment for all of us. Harmonia do Samba will stay alive in me. Our history is protected and despite the changes, the team stays together and stands firm with our fans.
