Hello Hello Bahia Newsroom
About 395,000 people in the world are considered “ultrarich,” which represents 0.005% of the world’s population, estimated at eight billion people. The data comes from the WealthX 2023 World Ultra Wealth report, which points to this limit among those with a net worth of more than $30 million.
The research, using figures from 2022, shows that 15% of the group analyzed is concentrated in just ten cities, half of them in the United States. Another two in Europe and three more on the Asian continent, where the metropolis is at the top of the list.
The list lists Hong Kong, China, as the city with the largest number of ultrarich people at 12,615. Then comes new York (USA) with 11,845; London (UK) with 6,370; Los Angeles (USA) with 6,205; San Francisco (USA) with 4,385; and Chicago (USA) with 4,235.
Singapore ranks seventh with 4,160; followed by Paris (France) with 3,995; Tokyo (Japan) with 3,710; and Washington (USA) with 3,465.
According to the report, this group had a combined wealth of $45 billion in 2022. Of this, 24% are accounted for by billionaires, who make up 1% of the richest people in the world.
