She searched everywhere for eight months after reporting him missing. The wife of Richard Maedge, 53, of Illinois, has never stopped to shed light on her husband’s fate. Now the truth has come out of the autopsy results. The body was found mummified in a closet in the couple’s apartment.
It was April 27, 2022 when Jennifer filed a missing persons report. She had heard that afternoon that they were supposed to meet at the house, but Richard didn’t come. His car was parked outside, but there was no sign of the man.
The police had searched the apartment, the operations turned out to be very difficult because the husband and wife were apparently two series accumulators. But the agents found nothing.
His wife later reported strange smells in the house, and even on those occasions nothing was brought to light.
Until December, when Mrs. Maedge fetched the Christmas decorations from a rarely opened closet. Inside lay the mummified corpse of her husband.
Now the final results of the autopsy are available: The man took his own life. The American media, which covered the news extensively, did not provide further details about the death. Instead, the coroner explained that the mummified bodies did not emit any odor and therefore the discovery was made months late.
