Lyon Place Financière, HUB612 and Bpifrance announce the publication of the 2023 Fintech Players Panorama in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, with a focus on the Geneva region. This mapping, developed within the Fintech Commission of Lyon Place Financière with the HUB612, was previewed during the 3rd edition of the last Fintech Forum on October 20th at the LOU Matmut Stadium.

Objective: Explore the fintech ecosystem of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

As part of it strategic axis dedicated to the Alpine arcLyon Place Financière strengthens its strategic collaboration with two key players, the Geneva Place Financière Foundation and the Franco-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFS). The additional lighting in Geneva demonstrates the desire to promote cooperation between these regions
cross-border.

The study, carried out from June to October 2023, included extensive research using an algorithm combining various data sources (business directories, INPI,
FrenchTech ecosystem, etc.). Interviews were conducted with experts in this ecosystem.

The 2023 panorama covers a total of 89 players from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region And 33 players from the Geneva region. These actors are classified according to their main category, namely:

Beyond the fintech panoramas in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Geneva, this study offers an overview of the key players in the sector and, thanks to the statements of the actors, sheds light on the innovation trends and the main challenges facing these fintechs.

With almost 90 fintech companies headquartered in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, it is one of the most important French fintech basins after Ile-de-France. Inspired by its function as an ecosystem, it brings together start-ups, the (rich) local academic world, large financial institutions and local authorities. In this respect, the success of Lyon Place Financière is a special symbol of what can be achieved through the intelligent pooling of talent and resources.
