The owner of the building in Old Montreal where seven people died in a fire in March is filing a lawsuit against the city of Montreal.
He accuses the city administration of having contributed to the outbreak and the severity of the fire through its demands for monument protection.
He also criticized the inadequate deployment of firefighters on the evening of the fire.
The owner, Émile Benamor, is asking $7.5 million.
The family of one of the victims also filed a $22 million class action lawsuit against this man who rented rooms on the Airbnb platform.
