According to the latest report, seven people are still missing and two injured are still in the hospital. Seven other victims who were taken to hospital were discharged.

The fire severely damaged a 15-unit building on Place D’Youville on Thursday.

The file was handed over to the arson department of the SPVM. However, it is still too early to determine whether the source of the fire is criminal, said the SPVM. The owner of the building is also cooperating with the police.

From Sunday, the SPVM arson teams will begin their expertise at the scene of the fire.

Earlier Saturday, it was revealed that civil engineers are due to conduct their survey to confirm whether it is safe to enter the building to conduct the search. The result of this investigation is that the demolition teams have to dismantle the facade of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building brick by brick.

The stones are stored to preserve the historical aspect of the building.
