Firefighters battle fire at Dolphins star Tyreek Hill's Southwest Ranches home – NBC 6 South Florida

Firefighters battled a major fire at the South Florida home of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. at a home in the 16000 block of Berkshire Court in a gated community in Southwest Ranches.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed heavy smoke billowing from the mansion as crews poured water on it and firefighters cut holes in parts of the roof.

On Wednesday, crews worked to extinguish a fire at Tyreek Hill's home in Southwest Ranches.

A large number of firefighters and police officers from several surrounding agencies were on scene, including Davie Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

Bob Taylor of Davie Fire Rescue said the fire was confined to the attic and roof, but said there was smoke damage to much of the home. It was too early to determine the cause of the fire, Taylor said.

Hill, the Dolphins' star wide receiver, was at practice with the team on Wednesday and not at home when the outbreak broke out.

A Dolphins spokesman said Hill left practice and everyone at the home at the time was safe.

The footage showed Hill, wearing a white T-shirt, dark sweatpants and a boot on his left foot, arriving at the home and hugging family members.

The fire appeared to have been extinguished around 3 p.m., although a large hole was visible on part of the roof.

Property records show Hill purchased the mansion in 2022 for $6.9 million.

The 9,300-square-foot home features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a full-size basketball court, a huge pool and two guest houses.

Hill, 29, was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins in 2022, signing a four-year contract extension worth a reported $120 million.

A Dolphins injury report released Wednesday ahead of the team's game Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills lists Hill with an ankle injury.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa told reporters he learned about the fire after practice and after Hill went home.

“The most important thing is that his family is safe, his loved ones are safe and he is safe too,” Tagovailoa said. “I'm just glad a lot of his family members are safe…We're thinking about them and hope everyone is safe.”
