South Korean dancer and model Bomi recently made global headlines after becoming the first K-pop idol to join OnlyFans.

“I posted my photo and didn’t break the rules,” she wrote in English and Korean.

“I don’t have a naked photo. There is no prostitution agreement. I am an officially registered idol and K-pop artist in Korea,” she continued.

“This is an account that communicates with fans! Please restore my account.”

She then shared instructions on how her fans can help her get her old account back by posting on Instagram.

Bomi recently announced that she has joined OnlyFans, making her the first K-pop idol to do so.

“I opened my OnlyFans,” she announced on Twitter last week. “You can subscribe for $15. Sexy photos and fancams will be uploaded!”

The 25-year-old performer is already selling lewd photos through other paid sites and apps popular in Korea, but this is her first time on OnlyFans.

Pornography is still largely illegal in South Korea, but there are a few loopholes on social media that let some illegal content through.

Distribution of pornography is a criminal offence; however, there are no laws penalizing people for viewing, downloading or possessing pornography.

Pornography is also blocked by the government on almost all websites and search engines, making it difficult to access in the first place.

Although Bomi made history as the first Korean pop star to join OnlyFans, she is not a traditional mainstream idol.

Obscenity: Bomi's live performances often go viral on social media, where they rack up thousands of views.

After becoming popular on the internet with their lewd performances, they entered the music industry in 2019 with their first single, Memories.

The song failed to chart, but many of Girl Crush’s performances and dance covers continue to circulate on YouTube, racking up millions of views.
