Bitcoin (BTC) rose It surpassed $28,000 early Monday, hitting its highest price in over a month, as analysts pointed to ETF optimism and seasonality as reasons for the gains. Traders at Japanese exchange Bitbank were already eyeing the $28,000 mark for Bitcoin last week, CoinDesk reported. In the last 24 hours, Ether (ETH) rose above $1,700, BNB (BNB) and Cardano (ADA) gained 3.3%, while Polygon (MATIC) gained 5.5%. Solana’s SOL token led the largest increase with a gain of 14.5%, largely due to renewed optimism from some traders for the network.
It is officially Trial week for FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried. It has been exactly nine months and 20 days since the former crypto CEO was arrested at his then-home in the Bahamas. His trial is set to begin Tuesday, where he will be able to regain his freedom or be jailed for what a federal judge says could be a “very long” period of time. Thousands of pages of evidence, from internal documents to audio recordings, will be presented and fought over the next six weeks as U.S. prosecutors try to prove that the former FTX founder knowingly defrauded customers and business partners. Perhaps the most damning evidence – or lack thereof – may come from the memories and personal opinions of Bankman-Fried’s former colleagues, friends and roommates.
