Sonia Cordeau mixes the codes of comedy, drama, horror and thriller in her first series. breath in, breath outwho plunges his characters into a yoga retreat with no rest, a first murder that quickly causes concern among the protagonists.
The actress and author also defends one of the main roles. Sophie is close to her, unlike the quirky and fun characters she has accustomed us to. And unlike “Léo,” a comedy from club illico, which she has worked on as a screenwriter for the last three seasons, this time she wrote it alone. She even wrote until last April, just a few weeks before filming began.

For her birthday, Sophie’s friends – a group of friends from Sherbrooke – offered her a yoga retreat. They also came up with the idea of spoiling Vicky (Virginie Fortin), who belongs to the same circle and has the same birthday as Sophie, even though the two women are low on hookatoms.
Sonia Cordeau developed the idea of Inspirez exhale with Katherine Levac and Jean-François Chagnon, her accomplice with the humor group Les Appendices, the three of whom had worked on Like-Moi. “We wanted to keep working together,” she said. Katherine has a supporting role in Inspirez exhale, while Jean-François directs.
“Basically, I wanted to write a series that takes place in a tight time frame. I also wanted to work on the thriller and Frédéric Ouellet – who we know from Grande Ourse and La Faille – supported me, so I was well prepared from the start,” said Sonia Cordeau on set, in the middle of the forest. at the Morgan Arboretum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

The artist also wanted to take a look at the “business of wellbeing” in this series, in which we find out who the villain (or villains) is. “The retreats, the motivators, the gurus, the people telling us how to live, I’ve always had a problem with that. I have a hard time with everything that is dogmatic and doctrinaire. We’re told we need to refocus, but I think right now we should be looking at what’s going on around us rather than focusing on our navels.
Richard (Marc Labrèche), who owns the property where the yoga retreat is held, is a personal development speaker… It’s said he won’t be in any hurry to find the perpetrator of the murders…

The series, which does flashbacks to help us better understand the characters, is also about friendship. Sophie and Vicky don’t like each other at first, but they team up to find out what’s going on during their stay. “Sophie questions her motherhood and her boyfriend is pressuring her to have children. “Vicky, she doesn’t assume she’s more attracted to women than men,” Sonia Cordeau said.
Speaking of Vicky, she’s sweet, naive, and cares about what other people think. “She tries so hard that we love her, but sometimes it gets on our nerves. “There will be the adventure of the average friendship between Sophie and Vicky and the adventure of the deaths” over the weekend, said Virginie Fortin, grateful we thought of her “for a composition role” away from She.
Virginie finds Sonia Cordeau and Jean-François Chagnon, with whom she improvised in high school about fifteen years ago. “They were my rivals! It’s the first time we really work together.
The 10 half hour Inhale Exhale will be discontinued on Crave next fall.

“Manon doesn’t want to go to this retreat, but it’s her job that obliges her because she has a hard time managing her anger. She’s always in good shape, she’s doing a lot, I hope people will see the humor in all of this,” said the actress, who is also the new voice of Marge in the French version of the Les Simpsons animated series.

“Carolanne is there to make money. This is her first yoga retreat. She borrowed her ex Richard’s cabin, played by Marc Labrèche, who is a spiritual guru. She had many derivative products printed. She welcomes colorful characters, most don’t feel like being there and it’s not going too well,” summarized the actress and presenter, who is a yoga devotee by life.

“Lou is attending the retreat and she is terribly embarrassed. It’s complicated for her socially and we understand that she’s not just there for yoga. We note that she is conducting a small personal investigation,” his interpreter said.

“He’s incompetent, drooling, racist and homophobic. He’s called to the retreat by the owner, Richard, who is his guru, and when people die there, he comes to clean up there, and it won’t be what it has to be,” the actor said.
