Five-star point guard Anthony Black commits to Arkansas

After a whole season of speculation, the undecided top contender in the senior class has made his choice. Monday night, at the Powerade Jam Fest, five-star point guard Anton Schwarz announced his commitment Eric Musselman and Arkansas Razorbacks.

“Coach Musselman has a feel for my goals and I believe he will help me achieve them as quickly as possible,” Black said of his decision. “I think Arkansas is the best place I can go to get the most pushed and tested.”

A 6-foot-7 jumbo facilitator who thrives in transition, Black chose the Razorbacks over opportunities gonzaga, State of Oklahoma, TCUand the NBA G League. His decision ultimately fell on the Razorbacks and the Zags as Black was in a state of uncertainty due to what both programs brought to the table.

“It was a difficult decision because both schools have great coaching staffs,” said Black. “Everyone thought I was going to drag it out, but honestly I was torn between the two programs.”

“Ultimately, I knew Coach Musselman wouldn’t let me down,” Black continued. “He’ll ask me to get a lot better and he’ll have no trouble getting used to me.”

The addition of Black gives Arkansas the #1 recruiting grade in the country. He joins other McDonald’s All-Americans NickSmith and Jordan Walsh in addition to Derrian Ford, Barry Dunningand Joseph pinion to form the Razorbacks 2022 Recruitment class.

“I expect we’ll get to work early,” Black said of his future freshman teammates. “I know we have to work extremely hard, learn how to play together and see what fits and what doesn’t.”

As the top point guard in the senior division, Black is ranked 14th in the 247Sports Top 150 Player Rankings.
