American actress Jennifer Susan Beals became known through the role of the character Alexandra “Alex” Owens in the classic “Flashdance Em Ritmo de Embalo”, published in 1983.
She also appeared in the cast of The L Word and acted in over 50 films throughout her career. Born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, the star is currently 59 years old.
Jennifer lost her father when she was ten years old. He attended the Francis W. Parker School and studied literature at Yale University. He made his debut in the 1980 film My Bodyguard.
The actress was married to director Alexandre Rockwell between 1986 and 1996. In 1998, she remarried to businessman Ken Dixon. In 2005 she gave birth to her first daughter.
Jennifer made sure her name took center stage when she brought Alex to life in the ’80s classic. In the story, a young man divides his time between working in a steel mill by day and a career as a dancer in a bar by night.
