And for her last hits radio show before Strictly Come Dancing, Fleur East broke down in tears after being surprised at the studio by Sean, her late father’s brother.
The singer, whose father Malcolm passed away in 2020, couldn’t contain her emotions when her uncle said his brother was “massively proud” of her after surviving multiple dance-offs to earn a spot in the Strictly finals.

During the show, Fleur’s co-hosts James and Matt revealed they had a number of messages of support for her before she hit the dance floor.
After hearing a series of messages from the family, including her mother and sister Kesha, who both told her how proud they were of her, Fleur was told there would be one last surprise.
Invited into the studio by James and Matt, Uncle Sean then said to a tearful Fleur, “Your dad would be on cloud nine today, wouldn’t he?

“Even though you’ve had a pretty rough old journey – it wasn’t the easiest of experiences, was it?”
He went on to tell listeners: “Fleur’s dad would have been massively proud – he would have been thrilled. It was his favorite show – I don’t think he could speak, he would be so excited.
“It’s going to be an exciting weekend, her dad would have been absolutely delighted, so all you have to do is go out and get the votes and please win!”

A tearful Fleur struggled to hide her feelings, then broke down and admitted, “I think we really needed something like this. Strictly has just brought so much joy into our family’s lives, and it came at the perfect time.
“And the fact that it was Dad’s favorite show was the best part, and that’s why it means so much more.”
Fleur narrowly made it into the Strictly Finals after defeating Will Mellor in the dance-off after finishing in the bottom two multiple times during the competition.

On Saturday, Fleur will face Helen Skelton, Molly Rainford and Hamza Yassin in the Strictly finals, with each pair performing three dances to win the Glitterball trophy.
For their Judges’ Pick, Fleur and her professional partner Vito Coppola will repeat their samba on Hot Hot Hot by Arrow.
The pair will then re-enact their Couples Choice to Destiny’s Child Megamix, which has achieved the series’ only perfect score to date.
Then Fleur and Vito will perform for their highly anticipated show dance to Find Me by Sigma with Birdy.
