Guadeloupe suffered extraordinary rains on Friday night and woke up to flooded areas where authorities are advising against all travel.
Many motorists were surprised by the rising water masses overnight. Many streets were still under water this morning.
Early on, the emergency services asked motorists not to cross flooded bridges or streets. The danger of being carried away is too great.
It probably happened this morning at the Raizet exit in Grand-Camp. The body of a sixty-year-old was found in his partially submerged vehicle.

It was around 9:30 am, the time of a slow decline, when witnesses and the victim’s daughter made the sad discovery.
According to a witness, the vehicle crashed after 7 hours. It was impossible to tell him apart. Only in the morning were several people able to dive in to help the 61-year-old.
The victim was found unresponsive. Despite the rescue, she could not be saved.
