A 6-year-old child has been hospitalized after being found under a carousel in Kissmmee, Fla.
He would have fallen off the roller coaster and found himself on the ground, according to local media Wesh 2, which is affiliated with CNN.
The child suffered “traumatic” injuries, according to authorities.
Fun Spot amusement park, where the accident occurred, says the Galaxy Spin ride passed final inspection with no problems, but will remain closed pending another inspection.
“Our guests can rest assured that we won’t open the ride until we’re 100% sure it won’t happen again,” says Fun Spot.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has launched an investigation to better understand the circumstances leading up to this incident.
