Julie du Page, who we like to follow in her role as police officer Sophie Duhamel 5e rankShe knows Florida well, the actress has been staying there regularly for the past 15 years.
Whether it’s for long vacations or short vacations, the actress, columnist, and muse from Lancôme in Quebec enjoys the condo her parents bought in Hillsboro Beach, a small, quiet beach community south of Boca.
Her photo album is filled with treasured memories of all her family vacations to manatee country.
“My son was barely a year old when we arrived and he was learning to swim in the pool at my parents’ house. In Florida, too, we celebrated unforgettable New Year’s days as a family. I also remember the long, quiet naps my kids took when they were very small, under the palm trees, with that nice light breeze, and all the times we went shellfish hunting. The kids were so happy…Moments I will remember for the rest of my life…” confided the 49-year-old.
change of scenery
In Florida, Julie du Page might be spotted biking along the A1A, at a golf course, or at the beach.
“I love swimming in the sea, reading a good book on the beach, or taking long walks with my feet in the water, simple pleasures that do so much good… And even if it’s not Bostwana, it always is nice to change scenery and see all those palm trees, that extraordinary light, and those gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, all just a three-hour flight from Montreal,” she explained.

Finally, another attraction of Florida for the mother of two teenagers is that even when the weather is bad, there are always activities for the family, whether it’s exploring museums, a zoo or simply going to the cinema.
“On a rainy day, you don’t feel like you’re trapped in a Caribbean island resort, watching the rain…” she says.
And to share his simple moments of happiness, here are some of his good addresses in the Sunshine State…

Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
Mizner Park, with its enchanting gardens and fountains, offers great shopping and dining right in the heart of Boca Raton. I like the atmosphere there and I especially enjoy window shopping there as the architecture is particularly pretty.
It is also an ideal place to relax with a drink on the terrace or to enjoy a good meal. We usually choose the Italian restaurant Villagio or Max’s Grille. It’s not necessarily haute cuisine, but the menu served is honest.
A small market takes place there a few times a year, reminiscent of fairs in Europe. I also bought a beautiful dress here which I wore to a press event organized by Lancôme and where I got to meet Lily Collins! A dress bought for the modest sum of $40 so you don’t always have to invest huge sums to be well dressed!
In short, Mizner Park is a unifying place, friendly without fuss! We spent several beautiful New Year’s days there with family and friends!

The water taxi in Fort Lauderdale.
One of the best ways to explore Fort Lauderdale’s canals and see the beautiful, opulent residences is by water taxi. This activity is enjoyable, especially at sunset. Of course, since these boats sail relatively close to residential homes, it feels a bit like playing voyeur, but it’s still fun to pass these homes of millionaires or celebrities (the captain provides commentary as you go). and ziuter a little! Also, don’t hesitate to rent your own boat so you can go at your own pace and even go a bit north to Lake Boca Raton, passing in front of Cher’s house on the way!
Pop’s Fish Market, Deerfield Beach

Pop’s Fish Market in Deerfield Beach.
A must-see when in Florida is Pop’s Fish Market in Deerfield Beach, a family business established over 60 years ago. Admittedly their produce is a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but if you want to pay for the milking and cook a good fish dish at home, you need to shop there! I always take the opportunity to buy their local fish and prawns – the best I’ve eaten in my life – and of course, when in season, their famous stone crab (snow crab), a real treat! As for preparing the fish, I like it just in the oven or wrapped in foil on the grill, with a little olive oil, salt and pepper, not forgetting to add a lime or lemon fillet. I like it when fish tastes like fish!

The Kaluz restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.
I have never been disappointed at the Kaluz restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Their fish, ceviches and fried calamari are excellent! In addition, the view from the terrace of the intracoastal with all the boats that operate there is terrific! Sometimes there are even customers who dock their boat to get something to eat! It’s a place to visit at sunset, the view is even more spectacular.

Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton.
My whole family plays golf including my kids who have been playing since they were kids. For a long time, my role was caddy for everyone! I was fed up and decided to try it too! I’m not a big player but I enjoy it. I took lessons from golf pro Pierre St-Jacques, who has been coaching me for two years. He gave me some great things. My parents led me to discover a very beautiful golf course, Osprey Point Golf, in Boca Raton. I find it aesthetically more beautiful than the others. It is well maintained and beautifully sporty. We like going there as a family.

Explore the Everglades by hovercraft.
When visiting Florida, you absolutely must discover the Everglades, and why not by hovercraft, an activity that kids love! While very safe, finding yourself in the middle of nowhere with alligators is still exotic if not a little scary, but transports us straight to another universe! An experience that made me live unforgettable moments with my family. I also remember the ambient sounds in the swamps. A deaf and unique sound specific to this place that I have not heard anywhere else… I am very sensitive to the sounds that surround me…
