Bats can be heard yelling, “Show me your hands! The sooner you show me your hands, the sooner I’ll take the dog off. Let me see your right hand!’
Gebert can only ask the police dog for mercy: “Please put him down!” he begs Batts audibly.
Batts replies, “Don’t fight. As soon as I cuff you, as soon as the dog gets loose, okay? Hold on buddy, hold on.’
Gebert was eventually cleared of Jax’s bite and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
The 29-year-old also drove the stolen car with his driver’s license revoked and active probation.
He is also charged with aggravated theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing a police officer, nonviolent resistance, driving without a valid driver’s license and violating the terms of his probation.
Gebert was being held without bail in a county jail.
