A Florida mother was arrested early Sunday morning after leaving her 7-year-old daughter alone in an unlocked car for hours while she got drunk at a bar.
According to Fox News, DeLand police officers responded to the Perfect Spot Bar shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday morning after a little girl was seen near the establishment, apparently looking for her mother.
The investigation revealed that the child had been left unattended in a car parked in a dark parking lot.
A police officer stayed with the girl while others searched for the mother, 35-year-old Veronica Elliott.
We don’t know exactly when the thirty-year-old arrived at the bar, but around 6:30 a.m., after unsuccessful searches by the authorities, the mother went to meet the police.
As she swayed, barefoot and covered in dirt, she simply asked her what time it was.
She was accused of child neglect.
Her daughter was taken into custody by the authorities.
