A man who lives in Micco, Brevard County, Fla. was sentenced to prison this Monday Possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, which he would have received in the mail, official sources reported.
Christopher Jon BauerThe 46-year-old was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Fort Pierce District Judge Aileen M. Cannon on charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, the Attorney General’s Office for Florida’s Southern District said in a statement.
According to the official statement, Bauer received at least 16 deliveries of fentanyl, i.e. almost a kilogram in total.
The police of the city of Sebastian (SPD) received a complaint about the man’s fentanyl purchases on the Deep Web and was forwarded to a co-defendant by post.
After the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) confirmed that several packages had been mailed to one of Sebastian’s co-defendants, agents from the SPD and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted surveillance at a post office in that city.
On the day of the observation, they found that Bauer had arrived in a red Cadillac SUV with a passenger, who entered the post office and returned to Bauer’s vehicle with a USPS Express package.
When investigators tried to stop the vehicle, Bauer fled and led the police in a long, fast-paced chase that ended with the stalled vehicle.
The officers managed to hold Bauer and the passenger in the car and took them both into custody.
About 65 grams of fentanyl, 12.53 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of cocaine were seized from the defendant.

The individuals were traveling in their car with a child under 14 months old, with whom they hid 42 grams of methamphetamine in the diapers.
In January, a man from Palm Beach, Florida, pleaded guilty of possession with intent to disseminate of fentanyl, ecstasy and other drugs, some of which were hidden in their children’s bedrooms.
Tire Marquise Bradley, 31, pleaded guilty to the four charges against him: distributing crack cocaine; importation of a controlled substance (ecstasy); attempted possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (ecstasy); and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine).
