Fluence, a global leader in energy-efficient LED lighting solutions for commercial cannabis and food production, today announced that it has been named the 2023 Lighting Company of the Year at the opening ceremony of the EMJAYS International Cannabis Awards.
EMJAYS is a collaboration between award-winning event producers Farechild Events and MJBizCon, the cannabis industry's largest trade show and media company. The program recognizes leaders in the cannabis industry, including financial services companies, branding and marketing companies, technology providers and others.
“It is an honor to receive the first-ever EMJAYS Lighting Company of the Year award,” said Michiel van Dam, CEO of Fluence. “Our success is only possible because of the hundreds of incredible farmers we have worked with along the way. Our goal is to help farmers improve crop quality, increase yields and achieve their operational goals so they can not only farm smarter, but also thrive.”
Fluence's award comes after Cannabis Business Times released its eighth annual “State of the Cannabis Lighting Market” report, showing that at least 70% of commercial growers use LEDs to facilitate growth, vegetation and flowering. More than 60% of the farmers surveyed also achieved yields of over 50 grams per square meter of canopy using LED lights.
The finalists and winners were recognized at MJBizCon, held on November 30, 2023 at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The full list of winners can be found here.
