Chef Darnell Ferguson was arrested this week following a domestic dispute in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ferguson was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Louisville Metro Dept. for a Jan. 2 incident. of Corrections, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. He has pleaded not guilty.
The former Food Network star was taken into custody and faces felony charges including second-degree burglary and first-degree strangulation.
“Darnell and his wife are separated and are working together to find a new balance for their family,” his attorney Krishna Tibbs told People magazine.

Food Network star Darnell Ferguson had a “difference of opinion” with his estranged wife that led to his arrest in Louisville on Tuesday, his attorney said.
“On January 2, a disagreement occurred which was subsequently reported to the authorities in a misleading and false manner. We hope these issues will be resolved shortly and in a way that least disrupts their blended family of eight children.”

“We ask for privacy at this time for Darnell and the entire family so that they can heal and continue to work on co-parenting as they move forward with their divorce.”
Representatives for his estranged wife did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Ferguson allegedly entered the home illegally, grabbed the victim by the throat with both hands and began choking him, local WHAS11 reported. She also claimed she couldn't breathe and was unconscious. Ferguson is said to have threatened to kill her.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by People magazine, police took photos of the injuries, which included “redness, scratches and pain on the neck and a scratch on the thigh,” the warrant said. She was taken to a hospital.
Ferguson was booked into the Louisville Metro Correctional Facility on Tuesday, January 9th.
Authorities told WHAS11 that before leaving the victim's home, Ferguson allegedly stole her credit card, debit card and ID.
Ferguson was also charged with third-degree terroristic threats, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, petty assault), third-degree criminal mischief and theft of a stolen credit or debit card.

Ferguson appeared in court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital. He was released on $10,000 bail and ordered not to contact the victim.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 18 at 9 a.m
Ferguson appeared on the Food Network shows “Worst Cooks in America” and “Guy's Grocery Games.”
Ferguson has appeared on a number of Food Network shows, including “Guy's Grocery Games,” “Chopped” and “Supermarket Stakeout.” In January 2023, he co-hosted the 25th season of “Worst Cooks in America” with chef Anne Burrell.
Food Network did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
