“The Cowboys have accompanied me in many moments of my life, but the moment that shaped me the most was one of the moments when I was able to meet Karl. Mariana Mazza… I don’t think I ever said it officially: we were in a relationship together. It’s not us anymore. Mariana was invited by the Cowboys to sing Merchant Marine at the Bell Center.

He remembers meeting the band members backstage before the concert before they took the stage. He then had the opportunity to watch the show from a privileged spot at the edge of the stage.

He says: “I couldn’t believe I was able to experience it so closely. I don’t pretend to be close to you. At all. I’m not going to be destroyed like I was close to the band, I’ll never say that, but I was pretty close. I was close enough that night to know that these are some good people. And Karl, we talk about the work, we talk about everything they did artistically, but what I remember is the simplicity, the kindness, the modesty. I think that’s what made him larger than life, the fact that he was appreciated everywhere he went.”

You can listen to his touching testimony again on the WKND website. The excerpt begins at around 1:45 p.m.

An anecdote that well represents the man that Karl Tremblay was, as well as the numerous testimonies received in the last few hours.

We take this opportunity once again to express our sincere condolences to his loved ones and everyone who loved him.
