Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the results of the new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, held in Istanbul, Turkey on Wednesday, “a positive step forward”.
Lavrov pointed out that this is not yet the “final result”. the fact that the Ukrainian side “confirmed the need to guarantee the non-nuclear status” and the need to “guarantee their security outside the framework of the Atlantic Alliance” can be considered “significant progress”.held.

The head of Russian diplomacy said that “the unipolar world is a thing of the past” while “a multipolar world is beginning to form” in which nobody “should be seen as an actor in the background”, “all equal and equal are sovereign” , he claimed.
It is a process that “cannot be stopped,” Lavrov stressed. “A reality in which not one single power rules, but a reality in which all key states will have a decisive influence on the world economy, on world politicsand recognizing their special position, they will uphold the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, which begins with the fundamental principle of the sovereign equality of States,” he concluded.
