The foreign ministers of Nicaragua, Denis Moncada, and Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, met this Sunday in Tehran and stressed the need to realize an independent and sovereign Palestinian state as a lasting peace solution in the Middle East.

Moncada conveyed to his Iranian counterpart the fraternal greetings of President and Commander Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo. In addition, they addressed issues of mutual interest related to the construction of a new multipolar world order.
They stressed the need to strengthen international solidarity cooperation in support of the Palestinian people. They also condemned Israel's aggression and war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding bilateral relations, they agreed to further deepen relations in the areas of economics, trade, investment, science, technology, politics and culture. They agreed that this will help both countries defeat the illegal unilateral coercive measures of the United States and the European Union.
The Nicaraguan delegation also met with Deputy Foreign Minister for Law and International Affairs Reza Nayafi and Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari. They dealt with issues of common interest and for the benefit of their people.
The Nicaraguan diplomats visited the Iranian Presidency Science and Technology Center, where they were received by its director, Amir Hossein Mirabadi, who gave them a detailed explanation of the latest scientific, technological and innovative advances of this nation.
In addition to Moncada, the delegation also included Vice Minister for International Affairs Carlos Cerda Gaitán and Nicaraguan Ambassador to Tehran Ramón Moncada.
