There is no information yet on how long the passage will be open and whether all admitted foreigners will cross the corridor in a single train this Wednesday.
In this first wave, nationals from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Indonesia, Jordan, Japan and the Czech Republic are allowed to leave the Gaza Strip. In addition, according to Candeas, the list also contains names of members of the Red Cross and NGOs.
“For the first time, foreigners are allowed to leave the Gaza Strip. I believe that new lists will be published soon and I hope that our Brazilians will be on them,” said the Brazilian ambassador.
The Brazilian government is coordinating with authorities in Egypt and Israel to leave this group. A Brazilian Air Force aircraft, which is already on Egyptian territory, was to be used for the return journey to Brazil.
