Former Chiefs RT Andrew Wylie makes emotional farewell to Kansas City – Chiefs Wire

After six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, Andrew Wylie officially joins the Washington Commanders under Eric Bieniemy.

Wylie, a former undrafted free agent from eastern Michigan who landed with the Chiefs in 2017 after bouncing around in several different practice groups, made his career, life and home in Kansas City. With a new chapter ahead, Wylie took to Instagram to say goodbye to the Chiefs kingdom, his teammates, his coaches and staff.

Listen:

No words can express how much this city meant to me. It has truly been my home for me and my family for the last 6 years.

To the fans, I can’t thank you enough for always being there, passionate, and cheering out loud no matter what.

Thank you to my teammates for all the friendship, good times and laughs. We have done things that no one can take from us!

To Coach Reid, Brett Veach and Andy Heck, thank you for bringing an undrafted rookie to his 4th Practice Team of the Year and coaching me to play this game to the standard you all have.

Some of the best times of my life have happened in this city and I am forever grateful. Until next time KC!

A quick scroll through the comments section reveals just how much Wylie was loved by his teammates. Players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Trey Smith, Willie Gay Jr., Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Creed Humphrey, Jerick McKinnon and Jody Fortson have already wished him well.

Godspeed #77.
